香港雖然多年來依靠金融、服務、專業、物流等業務推動經濟繁榮，事實是我們還有一眾專注科研的傑出精英，黙黙耕耘；當中許多並已成功在國際科研領域取得輝煌成就，成為香港的驕傲。

For many years Hong
Kong has kept its economy thriving, supposedly by relying much on the good
business of its financial, professional, service, and logistic sectors. In reality, we also boast an elite legion
of scientists and researchers, who have been working devotedly yet quietly for
the advance of our city. Many of them
have made brilliant achievements in the international arena of their
respective fields, which is all our Hongkongers’ pride and joy.

團結香港基金一直致力推動香港的科技創新，特別舉辦大型的「創科博覽2016」，期望藉介紹國家近年取得的頂尖科技成就，連同展示香港一些重點科研工作及成果，鼓勵及推動香港社會投身科創。

Our Hong Kong
Foundation is committed to promoting innovation in science and technology for
Hong Kong. By organizing the large
event of InnoTech Expo 2016, in
particular, the Foundation expects to help the general public learn more
about the top-class achievements that our country has scored in recent
years. It also wishes to showcase some
of Hong Kong’s major scientific and research projects along with their fruits,
so as to motivate the local society to join the great drive for innovation in
technology.

「創科博覽2016」出版這本《香港科研精英名錄》，是致謝於兩院一會*多年來支持香港科創的貢獻，亦讓社會大眾認識本地的科研專才，以期一起努力，推展香港科技創新。

The Expo’s
publication of this booklet, titled Celebrated
Scientists in Hong Kong, is intended as a token of recognition of the
many years’ support for Hong Kong’s innovation in technology given by the
Academy of Sciences of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Academy of Engineering Sciences,
and Hong Kong institution of Science.
It also aims to encourage Hongkongers to get to know those bright
brains and great minds of our city, and inspire them to put in their own
effort to help foster innovation in technology for Hong Kong.
